Description

Mihrimah Sultan Mosque or İskele Mosque is the work performed by Mimar Sinan in the square of Üsküdar district of Istanbul in 1548 for Mihrimah Sultan, the daughter of Suleiman the Magnificent from Hürrem Sultan. With the dynamic lighting project applied to the work, which was managed and restored with the commission created by Mimar Sinan University in 2013, it was aimed to bring the architectural value of this wonderful work to light again. In this awareness and meticulous working project, in order to provide dynamic lighting control, certain parts of the mosque can be controlled from a central point with the adjustable light level (DIM feature) system independently of each other. After restoration, in order to have flexibility in revealing architectural elements: Main dome with diameter of -11.4 meters and 3 auxiliary half domes -Full and auxiliary half small domes around the main dome -Sub-cheer parts of the 2 minarets of the mosque -The honored parts of the 2 minarets of the mosque – Located in the courtyard of the mosque, 25 arches symbolizing the skirts of Mihrimah Sultan and the carrier columns of these arches have the ability to be DIM from a single point and separately. In addition to these, wallwasher fixtures were also applied in some parts of the mosque facade. 2-layer lighting was provided by being supported by projectors from the courtyard on the facade. Along with the outdoor lighting concept designed and applied with these features, the interior lighting concept and products of the work belong to Soon Light & Project.
